The sovereign coins were used as currency in the U K for many years. They are made of 22ct gold and the value of the sovereign was one pound and the half sovereign was ten shillings when gold had a fixed price The weight of a full sovereign is 8gr and a half sovereign is 4gr
They now make beautiful jewellery to wear with a touch of times long past
